Justin has been asking for a boat for almost a year. It all started when we went to Lake Tahoe last summer and rented a kayak on the lake. After looking and looking, and weighing all the options, Neal took Justin out and bought a new canoe! The great thing about a canoe is you can stay pretty dry, and go out even when its not very warm yet. It has been really fun! So far we have taken the canoe out to Lake Natoma, Camp Far West, and a gorgeous little hidden lake called Clementine, which is just past Auburn.
One weekend, we went to Camp Far West and just had an evening campfire, and the Stacys, Merrills and Morgans joined us! Around 10:30pm, the moms went home with the babies, and the boys camped with the big kids in tents and canoed the next morning. The following weekend we went back to Camp Far West, and the Haars and Stacys joined us. The Haar's have a really fun ski boat the the Stacys have a wave runner...needless to say, our new canoe had some very exciting competition that day. Luckily, Simon still preferred canoeing! Millie got to go tubing and ski-boarding for the first time! She did great! My Papa would have been so proud of her. I learned to ski when I was 8 too!! (The ski-board was super cool, much easier than skis tied together in the middle, which is how I learned!)

We went to Clementine while Neal's parents were here. The only problem with Clementine was there was no where to setup camp with the kids. We just setup on the dock next to the ramp. It turned out to be a very quick little trip to the lake, we only stayed an hour or two. But it is a gorgeous place, and the water was like a sheet of glass! Just breathtaking!
