We are so Thankful!

We had a really great Thanksgiving this year! We started out the week making a Thankful tree. Millie and Justin cut out and colored "leaves" and then they each took 5 leaves and wrote some things they were thankful for. It made for a really great family night! And a fun little centerpiece for the kid table on Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Day, we had Mema plus few of our very good friends over for our Thanksgiving Feast. The Penneys and the Andersons! And what a wonderful day it turned out to be! I started out the morning buttering up and seasoning a turkey (it was really my first time to do one, without help), and that is just about all I really had to do in the kitchen! We made stuffing and mashed potatoes as well, but our super gourmet friends brought all the good stuff! We had everything from super yummy sweet potatoes and butternut squash, to spinach salad and melt-in-your mouth homemade croissants! We ate around 2pm, and had quite a peaceful afternoon because Simon was asleep! How's that for timing! It really was a fun day and we just chilled with our full bellies until the evening when we could possibly even think of dessert.

We have so many things to be thankful for this year! Our health, our friends and growing family, and especially that we get to look forward to the Holidays with our Daddy at home and no deployments scheduled in the near future! Happy Thanksgiving!!
