Fourth of July Fun!

For a (temporarily) single mom of 3, the Fourth of July can be tricky, if we want to do anything fun. We decided to hit the McBean Park 4th of July Birthday Festival in the morning. I am not the adventurous type, and my boys usually give me enough excuse to just turn on the hose in the backyard instead. However, I had promised Millie we would go this year. So we packed a large backpack full of snacks and tricks to entertain Simon (and did not have room for the camera). And off we went. The setup at the park was fun, but expensive. We ran into friends at perfect moments during our adventure, and they saved me from meltdowns and some crazy moments. Thanks friends! Besides the moments of craziness, we had a nice time. The kids had a ball on the bounce house slides and they pony ride and were exhausted by the time we made our (seemingly) 2 mile hike back to the car.

The evening was just as fun for the kids, and way more fun and relaxing for me. There are no pictures of Justin because he was wiped out and sun-sick. He even ended up barfing on the Hargadon's poor carpet! Thanks Hargy's for the fun evening and cleaning up my son's puke! As you can see, hanging at the Hargadon's is always a BLAST!
