Road Trip and a Bitter-Sweet Farewell

When Neal returned from this last deployment, he came home with an agenda on his mind. He decided it was time to put his Opel GT hobby on hold for a little while and listed his beloved "Anika" on Ebay. 5 days and 18 bids later, Neal received an email from a serious bidder who offered Neal cash for his baby. It was an offer we couldn't pass up, however it would require a drive to Hollywood. The buyer offered to pay for the travel expenses, so we decided it would make a super fun Daddy/Daughter Road-trip. Two one way plane tickets were purchased from LA to Sacramento, and at 4:30am on Saturday morning (August 22nd) Neal and Millie hit the road to take Anika for one last joy ride!! Millie seemed to really enjoy herself, Anika drove like a dream all the way to Hollywood, and Neal parted with his baby wearing a giant smile on his face (and a tiny tear in his eye :). The day went as planned and the boys and I picked Millie and Neal up at the airport almost exactly 12 hours later. Good times! Great memories! Anika will be missed!!
