Last Days of Summer Fun

Just a few fun activities we did before school started.   We went to the cement slides in Roseville, which was free and loads of fun!  Who would have thought 2 50 year old cement slides and one roll of wax paper could provide hours of entertainment for 8 children? They loved the wax paper which freshly waxed the surface of the slide each time they went down, and provided an extra slippery, extra fast slide, optimal for thrill-seeking kids.  We managed to avoid any emergency room accident this time...There were also random cardboard boxes and old pillows that the kids also tried to use for cushioning.  Good times!  We also spent hours at the pool.

Just after school started we had our good friends, the Hages over for dinner.  (Jumping ahead a little, first day of school pics will be the next post). They were in charge of dessert, and brought their Hawaiian Ice Truck...which was a hit!   Heidi Ho's Hawaiian Snow is the bomb, in case you haven't tried it!  If you see them, stop immediately and treat yourself!  I highly recommend it!!

The boys got go to a fishing derby on Labor Day.  Simon caught the biggest bass and got an award for the biggest catch!  He was also in the local newspaper!

Loving the catch up!! I remmeber when Justin caught the huge fish with a hotdog at the Robinson's ranch awhile back. Looks like fishing is in your kids blood!!
